VASUMA

Eyewear With A Purpose

Vasuma’s collection of unisex glasses and sunglasses is more than just eyewear—it’s a statement. The brand was born from a desire to empower those who had once been ridiculed for wearing glasses. In Sweden, the term “glasögonorm” (meaning “four eyes” and also the name for the spectacled cobra snake) was often used as a childhood insult. Vasuma transformed this stigma into strength, naming each frame after a snake as a tribute to everyone who has ever been teased for their vision. In essence, Vasuma is the revenge of the ‘glasögonorm’—a symbol of confidence and self-expression.

Founded in Italy in 2018 by Stefano Romanelli and Mattia Colleoni, it is one of the most ambitious names of the Italian acetate eyewear, from optical to sunglasses collections. The idea was inspired by the family interior design company of one of the founders, established in the late 60’s, eternal globetrotters in love with the techniques and the evolution of details.

Our uniqueness is shaped by a return to timeless vision, where the classic eyewear references meets the contemporary interpreted through aesthetic visual language. From simple and at the same time ingenious lines that only a complex city full of creative moments like Milan can inspire.
