Founded in Milan in 2018 by Stefano Romanelli and Mattia Colleoni, UDM aka. UNIQUEDESIGNMILANO has quickly become one of the most ambitious names in independent Italian eyewear, spanning both optical and sunglasses collections. The story of the brand begins from an unusual starting point. Stefano and Mattia did not come from the eyewear industry and had no previous connection to the sector. What they shared instead was a vision, a strong curiosity, and the determination to build something of their own. Approaching the industry as outsiders allowed them to see it from a different perspective. Curiosity, resilience, and the constant drive to improve soon became defining elements of the brand’s philosophy and creative process.
